Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Burial at Sea?
I’ve discovered that some of my elderly Residents are involved in a strange sort of suicide-pact, and although I’m sure this will result in no harm, I’d like to be prepared for the worst. None of them have previously specified their burial preferences, so I’ve opted for ‘at sea’ as we don’t really have any more room for graves around the Nursing Home.
The problem is that we’re inland, miles from any coast, so I wondered how far we’d need to travel up a river to be sure their bodies won’t come floating back?
I understand that in the UK they built canals for this very purpose in a special place called Birmingham, but I don’t want to go to the trouble of excavating my own waterway, or indeed traveling to Birmingham with half a dozen corpses!
Can anyone advise?
