To help protect the environment we recently installed a composting toilet at the Nursing Home. Actually it’s not so much a ‘toilet’ as a ‘patch of ground’, but the concept (and use) is much the same.
However, as the resulting heap has almost doubled in size since we installed it, some of our older residents are now having difficulty getting to the top, particularly those in wheelchairs. To make matters worse, some of them have taken to having dysentry, and frankly the whole thing is beginning to look like a surreal chocolate pudding, topped with caramel sauce.
I wondered if anyone can help devise a method to help wheelchairs keep grip
during diahorreah? Should we add a small traction-railway, or wait until winter when it can pay for itself with the inclusion of a ski lodge …
