I hope there are some bright young things out there who might answer a question for me; I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to extract and make use of the electrical energy produced by – for example – an old person in a wheelchair.
Obviously I don’t expect to get much current, but perhaps enough to drive their personal Health Alarms, so that I can go for a cup of tea while they’re having their recreation period.
With a bit of imagination I would like to create a ‘power sharing’ device so that a stronger, more virile pensioner can ‘subsidise’ the power produced by the older, less able residents. I’m sure we could achieve this with an induction system, so that energy is transfered from one chair to another as they wheel past each other.
